A new year is upon us—before addressing our wishes and hopes for 2014, let me review some of our activities from 2013. Despite rumors that we were “going broke,” we weren’t. Financially the Post is in good shape. Thanks to both big and small efforts by Post members and our Auxiliaries. The Men’s Auxiliary had phenominal events, golf outing and Rifle Raffle that benefited Francis Vinyard Post tremendously. Thanks to Denny Rorick’s and the Men’s Auxiliary. Our Post Kitchen Teams and Mary doing Coney Dogs on Saturday, the Post saw a steady income from food sales. Finally, thanks to a terrific bar staff, our canteen is a friendly place our members and guests can “hang out.”

To everyone else who helped out in anyway throughout the year, a heartfelt thanks. You are the reason we have such a great Post. What’s exciting about 2014. Thanks to the efforts of Jim McClure, Kim Dillon, our Office Administrator, our Trustees and House Committees, we just might earn a 3rd All American Post designation. It’s not a “sure thing”, but we’re all hopeful. For Annual Dues paying members, your dues will be $40 next year. Seriously look at making payments toward a Life Membership, you’ll save money in the long run. As usual, the first couple months will be kind of quiet at the Post, but things will pick up from March onward.

Finally, I hope you all have a happy, healthy and prosperous year in 2014.
