Change is a constant in the operation of our Post. Recently Pat Frazier had to step down as our Quartermaster for health reasons. We’ll miss Pat’s energy and ideas and wish him well. Jim Cook is doing the Quartermaster job on an interim basis until election time.

Our Post is fundamentally sound in leadership and finances. We’re over 100% on membership, but everyone can be a recruiter for our Post. Thanks to all who work to make things work for everyone.

At the February 7th Post meeting, the membership approved three new members for Post 2749. Gary Thome, Army, Republic of Korea Henry Shull, Army, Vietnam Gary Heiman, Army, Afghanistan. Please give our newest member comrades a warm welcome to the Francis Vinyard’s family.

The membership also approved a new commercial dishwasher for the kitchen. The cost is being shared by the Ladies auxiliary, Men’s Auxiliary and the Post. Thanks to our auxiliary’s generosity, we’ll be using real plates for dinners!

The membership also approved the purchase of a hot dog machine with capacity for 30 dogs, Polish sausages or Brats with a bun warmer. Primarily this will offer something besides popcorn and snacks to members over the lunch hour. Marie’s Famous Coney Dogs will also benefit from this purchase. Look for Kelly and the bar staff to be to be setting this into reality soon.

Finally, three new officers were sworn in. They are:

  • Doyne Strater, Jr. Vice Commander
  • Larry Ley, Post Service Officer
  • Jerry Brady, Trustee

Thanks for “stepping up” guys and helping to keep our Post growing.

Jim Cook
Quartermaster
