Coming SoonComrades & Sisters:

Thanks to all of the members and auxiliary members of both groups for your help and participation in the Wednesday night drawings and, of course, the Wednesday night meals.  There are too many of you for me to try to name everyone here, but you know who you are and I want to thank you all for your dedication and hard work. And a special thanks to Jerry Brady for repairing the roof and to Gary Fisher for implementing a Donation Campaign.

Speaking of the roof, it will be replaced when the weather turns warmer this spring. We are looking to cover the old flat roof with a new pitched one that will last a lot longer. This is a very costly project, and we have re-established the Building Improvement Fund to isolate donations to this project from the General Fund. There has been over $26K raised so far, but we still need more pledges in order to pay for this without having to borrow money. Please see one of the Trustees in order to make a pledge and donation.

Coming events above the normal weekly events include an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 2rd and some Race Parties on our Open Sundays now that the NASCAR season has begun again. There will also be a POW/MIA Service at the New Hope Church in Waterloo on Tuesday, March 8th at 7:30 pm. This is a very impressive candle lighting as the names are read. See me or Jim Piepenbrok for more details. There will be only one Open Sunday in April since the second one falls on Easter Sunday. We will be closed that day. And check the Wednesday night menus out on the calendars. There are some “mighty fine” meals coming up! So come out to your Post and enjoy your time with your brothers and sisters.

Please come out to the Post membership meetings at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1st and April 5th. We will have nominations for officers on both nights, and then the election will follow on April 5th. It is very important that we get qualified members to step up and take over some of these positions. I will not be a candidate for Commander again next year, so hopefully we can fill all of the offices by this election. Please get involved!
