Hello, Sisters!

The weather has been tolerable, not too much snow and not too cold. How about using these nice Wednesdays to come to the club for a fine dinner and conversation with your fellow members?

We had two funeral dinners in January. Thanks everyone, those who helped and those who contributed salads and desserts.

I thoroughly enjoyed going with Betty DeBolt before Christmas to visit the ladies from our auxiliary who are in nursing homes. They were all so happy to see and talk to us. I hope we can plan on doing this again next year.

The district meeting went well. We had eight members present. Our club is 94% plus membership. Our auxiliary was noted as the club adding the most new members in the district. Carolyn Mortimore planned a nice lunch with the help of the other officers. Thanks Carolyn!

The Valentine’s Party was a class act. Thanks to the ladies in the auxiliary who planned the evening and then spent many hours preparing it, thanks to Jerry Brady for showing us how to use the new dishwasher and doing the dishes all night, and thanks to Cecelee Shuck and Tiffaney Booher for their superb job of serving.

During our meeting of Feb. 9th, it was decided to change our meeting time from 7:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This new time will take effect with our meeting on March 8.

The ladies auxiliary is again offering a one-thousand dollar college scholarship to a child or grandchild of a VFW member. Applications are available at the club and applications must be returned to the club by May 1st.

A date to remember: May 4th and 5th are Poppy Days. Please save these dates to contribute some time selling poppies.

Don’t forget to continue to pray for our servicemen.
